Ein schlichtes, elegantes externes Festplattengehäuse, anwenderfreundlich durch schraubenlose Ausführung: Einfach Laufwerk einsetzen und loslegen. Durch Hot-Swapping können Laufwerke problemlos getauscht werden. Das Gerät kann horizontal und - durch einen ausziehbaren Fuß - auch vertikal besonders platzsparend aufgestellt werden. "Die Icy Dock sieht von außen nicht spektakulär aber edel aus. Das Gehäuse hat keinen Lüfter und hält sich auch deshalb dezent im Hintergrund. Um die Geräuschkulisse weiter zu reduzieren sollte man eine langsam drehende Desktopfestplatte in das Gehäuse einbauen. Uns stand das ICY DOCK in der schwarzen Ausführung zur Verfügung, es ist allerdings auch in mattweiss erhältlich."
